REFLECTION:
Cultivating a spirit of compassion is a matter of the heart and not how much we have to offer.
It is full commitment to serve our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who gave His life as a ransom for our eternity. 
Compassion is more than emotions. It is an extension of kindness and meeting the needs of those around us.
Our heavenly father demonstrated His compassion for us by giving His only begotten Son for the forgiveness of our sins.
As Christians, the Lord is calling us to be compassionate by meeting the needs of the people in our communities and extended family.

TEXT:
Mark 2:3-4
Some men came, bringing to him a paralyzed man, carried by four of them.  Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on.  When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”

DISCUSSION

• Share a testimony of the joy you experienced the time you helped a distant relative(s).

• Are there obstacles you had to overcome to extend the hand of compassion?

• What does the story of the four men and their paralytic friend teach you about caring for the vulnerable and going the extra mile?
